Brief Itinerary
DAY 01: AHLAN WAH SAHLAN (WELCOME) TO OMAN
On arrival Muscat you will be met and transfer to Hotel Hormuz Grand. You will have time to relax subsequent to which guests are invited for a expedition briefing session by our logstic leader cum guide. Afternoon we will have a quick orientation tour of Muscat covering Jalali/Mirani forts, Bait Al Zubair Museum, Sultan’s Palace, Opera House & Grand Mosque. We also have the opportunity to walk along the Corniche and later visit to Muttrah souk. Return to hotel for overnight stay
DAY 02: Muscat-Wadi Arbaeen-Fins Beach
After check-out at the hotel you start your fascinating roundtrip by 4 x 4 vehicle with the first leg taking you in South eastern direction along the coast to Sur. The road leads through scenic countryside and rugged mountains to the small fishing town of Quriyat. Stop at the limestone Sinkhole in Bimah and then continue to Fins Beach via Wadi Dayqah & Wadi Arbaeen.. After a short trek at Wadi Arbaeen you return to your Tents set up at Fins Beach.
DAY 03: Fins Beach-Sur-Ras Al Hadd
After breakfast visit Wadi Shab & Wadi Tiwi. You will continue your trip to Sur after having 3 hour trek at Wadi Tiwi. After will proceed to Ras Al Hadd via Sur where you will check in to a Turtle Beach Resort. After an early dinner you will visit the turtle sanctuary at Ras Al Jinz. Return to Hotel
Day 04: Ras Al Hadd to Khuwaima
After breakfast check out at the hotel you will first be taken on a short tour of Sur, renowned in former times for its shipyard, where the dhows, the traditional wooden Omani boats were built. Later we proceed to Aseela & Al Ashkara – with a 2 hour walk along Al Ashkara Beach. Later proceed to Khuwaima for overnight stay at Private Camp.
Day 05: Khuwaima-Wahiba Sands
After breakfast drive to Al Hijj and start cross over Wahiba Sands. Driver will take 7 to 8 hours. an oasis spot in the middle of the barren and dry mountains and picnic lunch will be served here. You drive into the Wahiba Sands, a vast mass of undulating red and white sea of sand. After some exciting sand dune driving with your experienced drivers, you will arrive and check-in at the Sama Al Wasal Camp. You may want to go on a camel ride or do some sand skiing before visiting the home of a Bedouin Family in the desert. On a moonlight day we do moonlight trek from 7 pm till 10 pm. Back at the camp you will enjoy a BBQ dinner with Omani music and a dance show. Overnight at Camp.
Day 06: Wahiba Sands to Jabal Akhdar
After breakfast cross proceed to Jabal Akhdar via Mudhairib, Ibra & Birkat Al Mauz. Do a short trek at Birkat Al Mauz. Overnight camping at Private Tents at Jabel Akhdar
Day 07: Jabel Akhdar- Nizwa
After breakfast visit Wadi Bani Habib (Trekking for 01 hour), Sayq village and places of interest at Jabel Akhdar and drive down to Nizwa. Check at Mud House Hotel in Nizwa. PM – Nizwa Souk Tour. Overnight at hotel.
Day 08: Nizwa-Jabel Shams
After breakfast continue our drive to Jabrin, Bahla, Wadi Nakhar- where you will do 3 hour Trekking. Further drive to Wadi Ghul and then to Jabel Shams. Short trekking at Jabel Shams near the camp site. Overnight camping in a Private Tents.
Day 09: Jabel Shams – Sharaf Al Alamin
After breakfast at the camp drive down to Al Hamra. After visit Misfat and do trek for 2 hours and later proceed to Sharaf Al Alamin to reach our campsite at the Jabel Akhdar range. Overnight camping in a Private Tents.
Day 10: Sharaf Al Alamin – Wadi Bani Auf
After breakfast drive down to Wadi bani awf via Bilad Sayt and do 2 hour trekking. Later drive to Zammah (Snake canyon) and do short 1 hour trekk. Overnight camping at the Private Tents in Wadi Bani Awf.
Day 11: Wadi Bani Auf-Muscat- Departure
