Brief Itinerary
DAY 01: AHLAN WAH SAHLAN (WELCOME) TO OMAN
On arrival Muscat you will be met and transfer to Hotel Hormuz Grand. You will have time to relax subsequent to which guests are invited for a expedition breifing session by our logstic leader cum guide. Afternoon we will have a quick orientation tour of Muscat covering Jalali/Mirani forts, Bait Al Zubair Museum, Sultan’s Palace, Opera House & Grand Mosque. We also have the opportunity to walk along the Corniche and later visit to Muttrah souk. Return to hotel for overnight stay
DAY 02: Nakhal – Wadi Mistall Trek & Overnight camping in Wadi Bani Awf .
Pick up from hotel and drive by 4 x 4 vehicle to Barka-Nakhl-Wukan and trek to W25, situated in the south of Batinah region. Its most outstanding archeological feature is its pre-Islamic fort,which is located on a craggy hill about 200ft high. Another feature of this town is the “Ain Thura” springs, the warm running water, which comes from the Jebel Salad. Overnight Camping in Private Tents at Wadi Bani Awf
DAY 03: Wadi Bani Awf – Bilad Seet – Sharaf Al Alameen
After breakfast 2-3 hours trek in Wadi bani Awf and proceed to Bilad Seet after short visit , drive to Sharaf Al Alameen for Overnight Camping in Private Tents.
Day 04 Sharaf Al Alameen – Misfat – Wadi Ghul – Wadi Nakhar
After breakfast start the trekking to Misfat Al Abireen. (Short trekking 02 hrs max). Later drive to Wadi Ghul , and Wadi Wadi Nakhar for Overnight Camping in Private Tents.
Day 05 Wadi Nakhar – Jabal Shams
After breakfast proceed to Jabal Shams , The Grand Canyon of Oman. Later start our trekking in Jabal Shams – carrying own equipment as donkeys cannot be hired here. Starting at the Jabal Shams plateau the path follows the rim of the Saydram Gorge a side wadi of the Grand Canyon to a col at 2.700 meter from there the path levels to reach the southern summit of Jabal Shams at an altitude of 2.997 meter. Mostly a natural rocky trek to the highest point in Oman. The tour allows spectacular views into Wadi an Nakhar, Wadi Sahtan, Wadi Bani Awf, as well as fantastic views of Jabal Khawr and Jabal Misht in the distance. On clear days you can even see the sea in the distance. Timing 5 – 6 hours with light pack 7 – 8 hours with camping equipment.Highest point 2997 meter difference 1000 meter Degree of difficulty / Grade 2 / Distance 9 km. Overnight Camping in Private Tents.
Day 06 Jabal Shams
After breakfast return back to the starting point in Jabal Shams / for an Overnight Camping in Private Tents.
Day 07 Jabal Shams – Al Hamra – Tanuf – Nizwa
Morning drive to Nizwa via, Al Hama, & Tanuf (Short walk). Overnight stay at Mud House Hotel in Nizwa
Day 08 Nizwa – Jabel Akhdar – Wahiba Sands
After breakfast visit Nizwa and proceed to Jabel Akhdar (Short trekking at Jabal Akhdar) and drive to Wahiba Sands.Over night stay at Sama Al Wasil Camp at Wahiba.
Day 09 Wahiba – Wadi Bani Khalid – Sur – Fins
After breakfast visit Wadi Bani Khali (Short walk), Sur , photo stop at Kalhat , trekking at Wadi Tiwi and Wadi Shaab and proceed to Fins beach for overnight Camping in Private Tents.
Day 10 Fins Beach – Wadi Arbaeen – Seeb International airport
After breakfast return back to Muscat via Wadi Arbaeen & Wadi Daiqa. After spending some time in Muscat city for shopping etc transfer to airport
