Brief Itinerary
DAY 01 ARRIVAL DUBAI
Arrival Dubai by GF508 at 1815 hrs. Meet & greet by our guide at airport. Transfer to Hotel. Dinner & overnight at hotel Emirates Concorde (4*) or similar.
DAY 02 DUBAI-KHSAB
After breakfast start on a half a city tour of Dubai. After lunch drive to Khasab. It will take 03 Hrs drive through the coastal road to reach Khasab, prime town of Mussandam, northern peninsula of Oman over looking the strait of Hormoz. On arrival at Khasab check in at the hotel Atana Khasab (4*). Dinner and over night at hotel
DAY 03: FULL DAY DHOW CRUISE
Board the traditional Arabian dhow for an exciting day cruise through’ Fjords of Musandum’’ the pass through the Strait of Hormoz, various villages etc. The cruise anchor at famous Telegraph island where you have the opportunity to swim, snorkeling etc. There is also a possibility of seeing dolphins during this trip. Lunch and refreshments will be served on board. Later disembark the dhow, drive to Hotel. Dinner and over night at Atana Khasab Hotel.
DAY 04: KHASAB – MUSCAT
Morning transfer to Khasab port to board the high speed Catamaran to Muscat. On arrival transfer to Hotel. Dinner & overnight at Al Falaj Hotel (4*)
DAY 05 HALF DAY MUSCAT CITY TOUR & SALALAH
Morning guided city tour starts with the visit of Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the Middle East. Thereafter visit Opera House and then drive to old part of Muscat, visit of the colorful Muttarah souq where traditional Omani items are being sold. For many centuries Muttarah harbor and its renowned souq was the trading hub for spice traders arriving from Indian coast. You will have a photo stop at 16th century Portuguese built Jalani & Mirani Forts and Al Alam Palace, the formal residence of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos. Visit Bait Zubair Museum, , a private collection exhibiting the wealth of Oman’s history.
After noon transfer to airport to board the flight to Salalah. On arrival drive to old and traditional Frankincense Souq before check in at Hotel Hilton Salalah
DAY 06: THUMRAIT & AL HASHMAN CAMP
Morning is free at leisure to explore Salalah on your own. Later, by noon we drive in 04WD vehicles towards Al Hashman camp. En route take a break at Thurait town, which was famous for the Bedouin settlement and proceed west on graded road crossing the huge gravel desert of ‘Al Nejd’. On arriving the Al Hashman desert, the driver will drive up the hills in the most thrilling and exciting manner to give you a dune bashing experience. Enjoy a beautiful sunset over the sand dunes before proceeding to camp site. Arabian coffee and traditional dates are served on arrival. Later you will be served a delicious BBQ dinner & Shisha (the Arabic water pipe). Overnight stay at Al Hashman camp.
DAY 07: LOST CITY OF UBAR- SALALAH – MUSCAT
After the breakfast, proceed to the ‘Lost City of Ubar’. This legendary ancient kingdom was said to have existed in one of the most inhospitable places on earth- vast and forbidden Rub Al Khali desert (The Empty Quarter). On return to Salalah we drive to Wadi Dawka known as the Frankincense Wadi, also known as the biggest collection of naturally grown Frankincense trees in the region. On arriving Salalah drop off to Salalah airport to board flight to Muscat. Transfer to Hotel Park Inn (4*). Evening Dhow cruise followed by dinner at local restaurant.
DAY 08: MUSCAT DAY AT LEISURE
Day is free at leisure to explore the city on tour own. Overnight stay at Hotel Park Inn in Muscat.
DAY 09: SALALAH – MUSCAT
Optional Dolphin watch program in the morning. After noon check out and proceed to Bait Al Adam Museum. Lunch at Museum with a lecture on Oman’s history & Spice trade by one of the renowned professor from Sultan Qaboos University.
The group later gets an opportunity to shop at modern malls and also possible re-visit Muttrah Souk in case if any group member wishes to buy souvenirs. Later driver through Corniche & Qantab fishing village. Farewell dinner at local restaurant followed by transfer to Seeb International Airport.
