Brief Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival Muscat
Arrival at international airport. Meet and assist on arrival and transfer to Park Inn Hotel.
Day 02: Muscat City Tour:
Tour starts at 08:30 in the morning with a visit to the beautiful Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque one of the largest mosques in the Middle East, followed by a visit to the Royal Opera house. Next stop will be at picturesque Corniche and then to once walled “Old Muscat” district where you will visit the Bait Al Zubair Museum (a private collection exhibiting the wealth of Oman’s history and thus imparting knowledge about the country’s rich culture and traditions to the visitors). This will be followed by a photo stop at the residence of his Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Al Alam Palace, which is flanked by the 16th century Portuguese forts Mirani and Jalali.Before ending the tour you will be strolling through Muttrah Souq, where you can bargain for Omani handicrafts and silver items prior to returning to the hotel. Later as part of our meet the people activity the group can visit to the “Ladies of Sidab” where the group can enjoy the making handicraft items and also interact with the Omani ladies working there to get to know more about the local Omani Women community in Sidab. Welcome dinner at Kargeen Restaurant. Overnight at Park Inn Hotel. (B)
Day 3: Muscat-Nakhal-Rustaq-Wadi bani Awf- Bilayd sayt- Jabal Shams:
After breakfast you embark on a 4WD excursion to the interior of Oman towards Nakhl & Rustaq via Seeb. Enroute visit Seeb fish market. Visit the famous Amouage perfumery factory. Nakhal is an old Omani village and it lies on the foothills of the mountains near an abundant source of water which irrigate the surrounding extensive date plantations. Visit the 17th century Nakhl Fort which is spectacularly perched on a rocky prominence on the foothills of Western Hajar Mountains. Later pass narrow road through the town which winds up to the Al Thowarah Hot Springs, which is a popular picnic, spot. Enjoy picnic lunch at a nice spot.
After spending some time at Nakhl we will continue for Rustaq once the capital of this area and always a major trading center of Oman. Photo stop at Rustaq Fort, another pre-Islamic fort at the edge of Batinah plains. Return to Nakhal and from there we will continue our trip to Wadi Bani Awf. The road leads us through the Wadi, we will pass by impressive Wadi Canyons (snake canyon) and several small villages and the most beautiful village is bilad sayt surrounded by mountains from all directions. Then we drive up the Mountain. This mountain road drives up to the Jebel Shams Mountain (The Grand Canyon of Oman) 3009 Meters it’s one of the most adventurous in Oman, offering existing off road experience and fantastic views. Check in at The View Camp for dinner & overnight stay (B/L/D)
Day 4: Grand Canyon – Wadi Ghul- Alhamra -Misfat Al Abreyeen- Nizwa
After breakfast we start the tour by visiting Wadi Ghul, 2000 years old village located at the foot of Mountain Ghul and can be seen on your way to Jabal Shams has been abandoned by its inhabitants and no one remained in, it has been built of solid stones. from there drive into Wadi Nakhar, one of the deepest valleys in Oman because of its geographical characteristics. The great gap in Jabal Shams is considered to be the most important source of water, since its large opening leads to valleys and reefs that form the valley of Al Nakhar. Then we continue our trip to visit ancient town of Al Hamra. Visit Bait Al Safa Museum and enjoy the sites followed by Omani lunch at the site. Then we drive up to Misfat Al Abreyeen. Dinner & overnight at Falaj Daris Hotel (B/L/D)
Day 5: Nizwa- Wahiba Sands
Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast we will start the tour and our first visit ist the famous Nizwa Souq (market known for its pottery, jewelry, handicrafts, Omani sweet (Halwa), Dates spice and souvenirs. If it happens to be a Friday then you should visit Friday cattle market, when the locals from the nearby Villages come to sell their, goats, cattle, sheep and chickens in a circus style open market place. Next to the Souq is Oman Fortress. The fort is a museum today and offers splendid views of this ancient town and the surrounding mountains. You can walk around in this impressive fortress and visit its many rooms, passages and towers. The fort is an architectural testimony to the economic and military achievements of the early Yaruba dynasty from the mid-17th century. It was a military stronghold designed to withstand even the strongest of attacks at the time. Even along the corridors, many traps were laid to deter any intruders that might have penetrated the defense. Lunch at a local restaurant. Drive to Wahiba sands, a vast mass of undulating red and white sea of sand. The ever-changing patterns of the dunes are a photographer’s delight. Lunch at a local restaurant. After some exciting sand dune driving which offers excellent thrills and chills for all. After visiting a Bedouin family we check into Desert Nights Camp. Evening watch spectacular sunset from top of the dunes. BBQ dinner and overnight at 1000 Nights Camp. (B/L/D)
Day 6: Cross Wahiba Sands – Muhut – Al Khaluf
Next day after breakfast we will cross the desert approximately 5 hours driving to south east towards Muhut its one of the states of the central region of Oman overlooking the Arabian Sea, It was one of the most important trade ports of previous times known for its shipbuilding, transporting passengers and goods from Oman to East Africa, India and other parts of the African continent. Picnic lunch enroute. From there we continue our journey towards Khaluf Beach, one of the nicest beaches in Oman and a place excite and calm white sugar dunes, rocky outcroppings, and sleepy fishing villages.What makes this area special is its isolation. Since it is so far from Muscat, the area doesn’t get many visitors. Dinner and over in a Wild Camp. (B/L/D)

After having breakfast we leave our camping place and drive to Al Khaluf Village stop at fish market. We then drive back again to Mahout and have our lunch there. Later we continue our journey to Ras Ar Rways , where the stunning white sand meets the turquoise open sea, you have opportunity to swim in the sea and watching the beautiful sunset. Dinner and overnight in a Wild Camp. (B/L/D)
Day 8: Ras Ar Ruways – Al Ashkharah – Ras Al hadd
From Ras Ar Rways we drive along coast line you will pass on many of the sea villages and the largest and the most beautiful one is Al Askharah fishing village that will depend on fishing. We will visit Al Ashkharah port, there you will see much fisher man’s returning from the sea with huge quantities of fish and seafood. Later check in to Ras Al Jinz Resort. After an early dinner you will visit the turtle sanctuary at Ras Al Jinz, where at night the Green Turtles, after a journey of thousands of kilometres will come ashore to lay their eggs. Overnight at Resort. (B/L/D).
Day 9: Ras Al hadd – Sur- Wadi Shab- Sink hole – Muscat
In the morning we will show you the City of Sur, the famous Omani Dhow Factory, where you can see traditional wooden Dhows being built. Later we take you to the old part from Sur then you continue your fascinating coastal trip to Muscat. The road leads through scenic countryside and rugged mountains to the small fishing towns. On the coastal road you stop at Bibi Miriam Mausoleum in Qalhat. Later you visit Wadi Tiwi, an oasis well known for its lemon and date plantations and then proceed to Fins beach. Today we will be having lunch at a local Omani house. After lunch we drive to Muscat enroute Stop at limestone Sinkhole in Bimah and Wadi Arbaeen. Check in to Park Inn Hot (B/L/D)
